In June 2016, a group of Acadia faculty, staff, and students along with several members drawn from neighbouring Mi’kmaq communities met at the request of President Ray Ivany to form the President’s Advisory Council on Indigenization (PAC). One of the outcomes of those early discussions was to reframe the Council’s work as aimed at Decolonization rather than Indigenization.
